Taylor Swift Fans Have Mixed Reactions to New Merch: 'Shut Up'

Taylor Swiftjust released a brand new piece of limited-edition merch, and it's safe to say it's been a long time coming.

After releasing cardigans for several of her different album eras—inspired by the lead single on her 2020 folklorealbum, "cardigan"—Swift has been keeping her fans waiting for a Fearless-themed sweater, until now.

On Wednesday, April 9, the "Fortnight" songstress dropped the brand new Fearless era cardigan on her official online store, available for just a few days. But while some fans say the new merch looks like "aesthetic perfection," other Swifties weren't so excited about the style of the sweater.

The new cardigan features brown fabric with small black star detailing, which some fans say doesn't match up with the vibes of Fearless, Swift's second album, released back in 2008.

"why is it brown," one user on X (formerly Twitter) questioned.

"wish it was white with golden stars," someone else added.

Other Swifties even said they found the sweater to be "ugly," and some even compared it to the clothing worn in the Harry Potter movie series.

"It's giving hufflepuff," one disappointed fan quipped.

Others noticed that the price of the cardigan was slightly increased compared to her past merch releases, with one user writing to the singer, "girl the tariffs."

"[You're] joking I'm literally broke," another fan added.

But of course, plenty of Swifties were jazzed about the new product, with some buyers immediately saying "yes" to purchasing the new sweater.

"Shut up the fearless cardigan is so cute," one user tweeted. Another person declared, "saw this cardigan and immediately said you belong with me."
