The premise for the series is thus: When Lautner finished filming the last Twilight saga installment and seemingly disappeared from the public eye, many believed he was simply taking a break from stardom. Instead, he apparently was quietly preparing for his next big supernatural adventure.

“Playing himself, Taylor is drawn into a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise,” the synopsis obtained by TVLine reads. “As he navigates his double life — ‘Hollywood actor by day, supernatural warrior by night’ — Taylor must wrestle with the ultimate irony: fighting the very creatures that made him famous. Between saving the world, reviving his career, and falling in love, he faces the ultimate question: What happens when your biggest role becomes your greatest enemy?”

Lautner portrayed Jacob Black, a werewolf from the Quileute tribe and one of Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) love interests, in the Twilight film franchise from its debut in 2008 through the final installment in 2012.

Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter is helmed by creator and showrunner Daisy Gardner, with Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett serving as directors and executive producers. Adam Londy of Tornante will also executive-produce along with Tarik Kanafani.
