'Swiss Gigolo' Jailed
Two months after marie claire reported on the con man who swindled women out of millions, Helg Sgarbi has been sentenced to six years in jail.
"I regret what I did," Sgarbi, known as the "Swiss Gigolo," told the court, as he publicly apologised to his victims, who include BMW heiress Susanne Klatten.
Ms. Klatten reported Sgarbi to police in 2007 after he threatened to go public with a secret video and pictures of their affair unless she paid him $27 million.
Sgarbi's alleged accomplice, Ernano Barretta, is due to stand trial for blackmail and fraud in Italy on March 24.
