A video showing a lone figure standing near the top of the stadium during one of Taylor Swift’s recent Eras Tour shows has launched a wave of theories online about who the person was.

The video was shared on June 6 by Pop Base on X, formerly Twitter. It showed a mid-concert video zooming in on a person during the Reputation era of Swift’s performance. The shadowy figure was standing in front of a stretch of light, obscuring their identity as they swayed along to the music.

Pop Base credited the video of the “mysterious figure” to X user @everaishamore, who noticed the person while attending one of Swift’s recent shows at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain.

Without much context for who the person might have been, many Swifties quickly dubbed the video “so creepy” and “mildly ominous.” While some wondered if the person had somehow snuck into the venue to watch the show without first purchasing a ticket, one person said they’d seen the figure in question.

“[I]t was literally a security man, i was near to that section and he was standing there and checking on us all the time,” they tweeted. Some X users who hadn’t seen the figure also guessed it was likely a stadium employee or a member of Swift’s team.

As the guessing game continued, a few fans thought the figure could have been Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who traveled overseas to join the “Cruel Summer” singer for other Eras Tour shows. Some also suggested that it was actor Joe Alwyn or The 1975’s Matty Healy, both of whom are believed to have influenced Swift’s recent album The Tortured Poets Department as her former romantic interests.

Other Swifties got more creative with their guesses as they joked Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Scooter Braun, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj–all celebrities whom at one point had "bad blood" with the pop star–might have popped in to watch the show. Some fans even joked about otherworldly visitors stopping by to hear Swift sing.

“Dancing phantoms on the terrace,” one person suggested while another similarly wrote, “Omg its a Swifty ghost.”

“[K]nowing taylor swift, she's probably behind this and she's teasing something,” one person suspected.

“Aliens watching,” another fan tweeted.
