Susie Maroney has a lot to celebrate since her partner, inspirational quadriplegic Perry Cross, popped the question with a beautiful one-carat diamond.
Friends reveal that Perry, 40, actually proposed two months ago, but they decided to keep it secret while Susie fought her battle with malignant melanoma.

Today, however, the devoted mother-of-three is delighted to say she’s cancer-free, following recent surgery.
‘She will have to go for check-ups every few months, but it’s good news so far,’ says a family insider. ‘The melanoma was all removed and luckily, it does not seem to have spread.’
Hopefully the 41-year-old battler can now plan a brighter future with Perry, who proposed at a romantic seaside dinner near her home at Sydney’s Cronulla Beach.

The happy couple first started chatting at a fundraiser for the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation back in 2014, stayed in touch through social media and started dating last year.
The man Susie calls 'my best friend' has met her children – Paris, seven, Capri, five, and River, four – and the extended Maroney clan, who all adore him.
‘He makes me a better person. Just being together, I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been,’ she says.
