'Survivor' Season 47, Episode 7: A twist sends some players to tribal. Who went home?

Although the remaining "Survivor" Season 47 players have now merged and are all on the same beach playing a more individual game, host Jeff Probst threw them a curveball for Episode 7.

The episode, titled "Our Pickle on Blast," featured a unique twist going into tribal council. While all the castaways would attend, only half would be able to vote and be voted out (they were chosen by a random draw and for coming in last at the immunity challenge). Of the players who could vote and be voted out, only one had individual immunity after lasting the longest for the group in the challenge.

Season 47 of the long-running reality competition show on CBS has already seen plenty of twists and turns, from emotional meltdowns to thrilling blindsides. And Episode 7 was no different, especially after an advantage was thrown into the game ensuring the safety of a player others almost certainly thought was going home.

Here's who was voted out in "Survivor" Season 47, Episode 7.

Who went home on 'Survivor' Season 47, Episode 7?

During the immunity and reward challenge, contestants were divided into two groups, with Probst telling players that only one of the teams would be safe. The last player remaining would win immunity for their group, while the other group would visit tribal council and vote someone out.

The yellow group won the challenge and consisted of: Sol Yi, Sam Phalen, Andy Rueda, Teeny Chirichillo and Genevieve Mushaluk. The blue group, which lost, was made up of: Sue Smey, Rachel LaMont, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar, Tiyana Hallums and Kyle Ostwald. Ostwald did win individual immunity, giving him safety in the game.

The two groups were separated as the blue group prepared to cast votes at tribal council. While at the reward, Yi found an advantage hidden near the food, which allowed him to send it to a player on the group casting votes. Yi sent the advantage, which allowed safety without casting a vote, to LaMont, the lone player in the group not on the former Lavo tribe and the obvious target.

This sent the tribal council into a tailspin as the remaining players scrambled on who to vote out. Ultimately, a majority voted for Tiyana Hallums, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Oahu, Hawaii.

Probst previously warned players that the castaway voted out would not make the jury, which is the group of voted-out players who have a hand in ultimately choosing the "Survivor" winner.

Who went home last week on 'Survivor'?

It was a near-unanimous decision for the newly merged tribe mates who the target should be: Rome Cooney, a 30-year-old E-sports commentator from Phoenix.

Cooney immediately began to annoy other castaways with his brash personality and attempts to stir the pot about fellow players, and was unsuccessful in winning in the team challenge and individual immunity.

At tribal council, Cooney was so confident in Yi's departure that he threw a vote on Sam Phalen. He was then completely blindsided by a majority of the other players.
