Surprise reason The Wiggles wear long-sleeved skivvies
The Wiggles are known for their iconic colourful skivvies, but it turns out there's actually a very practical reason the band decided to wear them when they first formed in 1991.
Speaking with 2Day FM's Hughesy, Ed and Erin about the skivvies, Anthony Field AKA the Blue Wiggle revealed it began as a way to hide their body ink!
"We're covered in tattoos," the 58-year-old shared while discussing the famous uniform.
Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes was surprised by the revelation, questioning, "I didn't know you were covered in tattoos because of the skivvy! Did the tattoos come first, or did the skivvies come first?"
"The tattoos came first," Anthony responded. "I was in the army way back. Everybody had them!"

He added, "I was in the army in the '80s, everybody had [tattoos]. They were called 'tough stickers' in those days, and only guys in the army and the services or in prison had them."
The entertainer said his tattoos "would have been an issue" when The Wiggles first formed because they "wouldn't look good" on a children's entertainer.
However, he did add that opinions about tattoos have "changed now" and they're much more prevalent nowadays.
One of Anthony's tattoos is of the Virgin Mary with the phrase, "My life is in your hands" in Spanish.
He also has a love heart with the phrase, "My love, my heart," also in Spanish alongside the names of his wife Michaela and their three children Lucia, Antonio and Marie.
The Wiggles new Purple Wiggle John Pearce, who's known for being a Justice Crew performer, has a number of tattoos, as does the new Red Wiggle Caterina Mete.
"I've got a little quote that says, 'Don't chase the money, chase the dream,'" John told the radio hosts.
Caterina has a Mexican sugar skull on her bicep and an anchor on her forearm, as well as the words "Tiny Dancer" on her foot and a butterfly on her ankle.
Former Yellow Wiggle Sam Moran also has a number of tattoos that resemble passport stamps from countries such as America, Canada and Ireland.
Sam was a member of the Wiggles for five years from 2006 with the star surprising his followers on Instagram recently with a new look.
A number of fans took to the comments on a snap of himself and his daughter on a red carpet to express their surprise at his new look.
“Wow you look a lot different,” one person wrote, while another added, “You look amazing”.
“Barely recognised you, Sam!” a third shared.
