Super Bowl Showcase: Thunderbolts*, Smurfs and Other Big Movie Trailers

Super Bowl commercial breaks aren’t simply about selling you Duff beer, Totino’s pizza rolls or, you know, religion.

No, Super Bowl Sunday is a primo opportunity for movie studios to ramp up the hype for upcoming releases, in front of an audience of more than 100 million people.

Leading up to this year’s Big Game, we’ve already gotten early looks at teaser trailers for Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World: Rebirth and Paramount Pictures’ Rihanna-led take on the Smurfs.

Will we get full-on looks at those big releases as the Eagles try to snap the Chiefs’ championship streak? Will we also get awaited first or new trailers for M3GAN 2.0, Thunderbolts* or Disney’s Snow White?

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

RELEASE DATE: July 25

SYNOPSIS: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (The Last of Us‘ Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (The Crown‘s Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Stranger Things‘ Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet. How to Train Your Dragon
