Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew has given birth to her first child.

A Seven spokesperson confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the journalist and husband Neil welcomed baby girl, Molly on Wednesday evening.

Full name Molly Varcoe, the bub carries dad Neil Varcoe’s name and is the married couple’s first baby together.

The presenter was impatiently awaiting the arrival of the third member of her family after revealing she was overdue to fans last week with an Instagram post.

“9 months and three days,” the very pregnant host wrote alongside a selfie of her and the bump while moving house.

Edwina went on maternity leave early from her gig on Sunrise in November, sharing her well wishes to fans, and confirming she will be back in 2020.

The TV presenter, who married in April last year, revealed the happy news on Sunrise in April, saying she’s due at the end of the year.

The reporter made the surprise announcement during a live segment on the show, leaving co-host David Kosh flabbergast and visibly moved at the announcement.

It was rough ride in the later months for Edwina as she found herself at the centre of a Twitter scandal after her tweet about Nine reporter Seb Costello triggered a flurry of legal talk back in September.

The matter has since been settled with Eddie paying a reported $20,000 in damages to the reporter which Nine later confirmed was actually paid to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation against online bullying.
