Sunrise's Nat Barr forced to fly solo after Kochie's bungle: 'You have one job'
Natalie Barr was left hosting Sunrise on her own on Thursday morning after Kochie missed the beginning of the show.
The 53-year-old presenter looked perplexed when the show came on air, saying: “Hello and welcome to Thursday, I’m Natalie Barr. David Koch was here just a few minutes ago but he just stepped out of the studio.”
“I don’t know, he went to do a voiceover package or he had a COVID test. Hello? Hello?”
“At his stage of life he needs a bathroom stop now and then,” sports presenter Mark Beretta added.
Kochie then comes strolling on to the set, with Nat asking him: “Did you know we were on?”

“No, I got my timing wrong. I was in recording a package,” Kochie said.
Nat looked baffled as she told him: “We’re not finished, we’re starting.”
“It’s already started ladies and gentlemen, I’m only admitted into the show,” Kochie replied.
The rest of the hosts continued, with Nat saying: You have one job” and Mark Beretta adding: “If you’re happy we’ll get started now.”
Nat Barr took over hosting duties on the show back in March from Samantha Armytage, following her shock departure.
Despite having 17 years of experience in front of the camera, Channel 7 veteran Nat admitted she didn't anticipate the increase in 'pressure' and 'responsibility' when she stepped into Sam's shoes.
"Before it was all care and no responsibility," the mum-of-two told TV WEEK of her role as newsreader.
"Now, it's all responsibility. It's [the job] mine now and, to be honest, it's taken me quite a few weeks to get used to the fact that I'm it," Nat added.
In June, Sam did an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show, where she was asked about her relationship with Nat after the host revealed they weren't that close off-camera.
Sam appeared to be surprised by the question and dodged it by saying: "Yeah, well, look, I mean it's better to be talked about than not, isn't it in life?"
She then took a little swipe at Nat, adding: "I thought everyone might forget about me when I was having my little sabbatical, but it seems they're not, you know?"
Natalie Barr was reportedly left "gutted" by her predecessor Samantha Armytage's comments that the host "wanted the job forever".
"No one was more shocked and saddened over Sam's comments than Nat," a source claimed. "She is gutted and has no idea why the snarkiness continues, even though Sam has been gone [from Sunrise] for months," a source told New Idea.
They added the Sunrise team is attempting to "make light" of the situation.
