Sunrise hosts take savage swipe at Meghan and Harry: 'Stupid'

Natalie Barr and David 'Kochie' Koch didn't hold back

Sunrise hosts Nat Barr and David 'Kochie' Koch have blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after rumours the pair might sue South Park over an episode making fun of the pair, though they weren't named. In the episode, the 'Prince and Princess of Canada', are seen on a 'worldwide privacy tour' as the Prince is seen on a publicity tour for the autobiography 'Waaaah', a dig at Prince Harry's book Spare and the couple's request for privacy.

Nat and Kochie shared their disbelief after learning the couple may be considering taking legal action against the show.

Speaking with The Daily Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers on Tuesday, the hosts were shocked that Harry and Meghan would "take themselves so seriously".

"Is this actually true, that their lawyers are thinking of taking action?" Kochie questioned the editor. "They couldn't be that stupid. Oh, for God's sake!"

Nat, who clearly found the who thing to be strange, added that it would be "such a funny lawsuit if it went ahead".

Kochie responded, saying it wouldn't be good for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's image, "Everyone will turn. If you haven't turned on them, you will now, because you just think, 'What a bunch of tossers not being able to laugh at themselves.'"

The couple's lawyer is reportedly "casting an eye" over South Park, with royal commentator Neil Sean telling Fox News the legal team is watching the show closely.

"According to sources close to the ex-royals, it appears that, like so many things with Meghan and Harry, this may have legal ramifications attached," he said.

Meghan was reportedly left "upset and overwhelmed" by the way she was portrayed, according to The Spectator.

An insider said Meghan "is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all".

"Exactly. You can't take yourself too seriously and you can't trash your family publicly," Nat added.

In the South Park episode, the main character Stan Marsh calls the Prince and Princess of Canada "dumb prince and his stupid wife", while Kyle Broflovski complains their private jet is parked outside his home.
