Suits stans are eating good yet again. After years of chatter and anticipation, its spin-off series, Suits LA, officially hit Peacock on February 23. This chapter follows Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who moved to the West Coast and is starting all over in entertainment law.
Given the series’ enticing premise and exciting new cast members (Victoria Justice! Stephen Amell!), it’s got an obvious standalone draw. Still, one of the most pressing questions from longtime Suits fans is whether we’ll see any familiar faces pop up in the West Coast firm. Particularly, whether we’ll get an appearance from the Suits star-turned-Duchess-turned-lifestyle-maven Meghan Markle herself, who famously portrayed the show’s paralegal Rachel Zane during the series’ original run. So what is the verdict on Meg’s Suits LA cameo?
Well, Suits creator Aaron Korsh provided an update at the Suits LA premiere event on February 20. Given the series’ focus on famous clientele, a Meghan Markle playing Meghan Markle cameo is not out of the question. “We have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor,” he revealed in an interview with People. “I think for me, that’s a little...my brain blows up at the thought of that. Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”
But according to Korsh, while Meghan’s got an open invitation to come back at any time, it might be a tad distracting. “I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that,” Korsh told People.
Last month, when asked about original Suits cast members joining the reboot during a Q&A on X, Korsh was pretty ambiguous. “Remains to be seen,” he said. Call me delusional, but that doesn’t sound like a no! We’ll keep an eye on the show for updates. But in the meantime, we’re ready for Meghan’s lifestyle series With Love, Meghan to drop on Netflix this March for some guaranteed Markle screen time.
