Student's sneaky Zoom call trick on teacher
The world turned into a different place in March this year. Employees moved to working from home, schools moved to online lessons and socialising with mates was off the cards.
And now, one teacher has shared just how the change has gone with her students, with one of them in particular deciding to play a trick on her in class.
In a Reddit thread, she uploaded a screenshot of her class Zoom call, which showed one student with their microphone and video turned off.
“Today one of my 4th grade students renamed himself "reconecting ..." on our Zoom call and pretended that he was having internet issues to avoid participating in our lesson,” she wrote.
Despite the child clearly trying to wag school, people online thought it was hilarious.
“Tricksy students! I'm in the same boat. I have a 2nd grader who froze completely leading me to disconnect and recall. He did it 2 times until I saw his grandma walk by in the background and realized he was just being really still on purpose. Ain't even mad... He got me good,” one person commented.
“If this kid can apply these kinds of street smarts in the real world they’ll be just fine. Should polish that spelling a little however,” another said.
Others called it ‘genius’ and while his spelling isn’t up to scratch he’s ‘got the right spirit’.
