Shaw will be sentenced on April 1, the BBC reported. Its report said that Shaw made unwanted attempts to contact Ballas and posted on social media about the star, including posting an image of her house. He attempted to contact her family, friends and colleagues, which had an “adverse effect” on Ballas’ day-to-day life.
The stalking took place during the time that Ballas has been a judge on the BBC entertainment juggernaut. Ballas has been a judge for seven years and many years before that she won numerous trophies as a competitive dancer.
The news comes after what has been a difficult few months for Strictly Come Dancing. Just prior to the launch of the latest season, two professional dancers exited amid misconduct allegations.
Last year, a man was given life imprisonment after plotting to kidnap, rape and murder TV presenter Holly Willoughby.
