Storm Reid Recalls 'Crying' in Her Car After Experiencing 'Senioritis' During Final Year of College (Exclusive)

Storm Reid is over going to school.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the actress, 21, told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the TIME Women of the Year Gala in West Hollywood, Calif. that she is experiencing "senioritis" during her final year of college.

Reid, who studies at the University of Southern California, said, "I was in the car crying yesterday because the senioritis is so bad."

"I'm so over it and ready to graduate, but I'm just being patient and I'm also trying to cherish each moment," the Euphoria alum added. "I know it'll be over in two months and then I'm going to be so sad."

Senioritis is a common term used when a student begins to feel a lack of motivation towards the end of their time at an academic institution. It can be applied to people attending high school or college, and its name derives from the student classification of the four undergraduate years.

As for her college experience, the Emmy winner said she has "done it all."

"I've partied, I've stayed out all night. I've gone to the games — football, basketball," Reid shared.

In 2023, the former Nickelodeon actress told PEOPLE that she has been keeping a lowkey profile in college, despite her major Hollywood success. "I'm just Storm the student," she explained of her college identity, adding that she can be spotted "in my sweats on my way to class on my scooter."

Reid also shared, at the time, that she was desperate to experience the life of a typical teen. "I was feeling very fulfilled as a young person that was working but not necessarily as a young person experiencing young people things," she said.

"I get to experience things that people will never get to experience in their lifetime, which I'm cognizant of and I'm very grateful for," Reid added. "But I do want to go to the football games, I do want to go to the parties, I do want to just go hang out with my friends and walk around campus at 3:00 AM sometimes."

The actress announced in November 2024 that she will not be reprising her role as Gia Bennett, the younger sister of Zendaya’s lead character Rue, in the anticipated third season of Europhia.

"I’m very excited for season 3," she told Rotten Tomatoes. "Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning to the third season, but I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO. Euphoria’s a really special thing and I’m so glad that that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon."
