Stevie Wonder Announces Last-Minute Tour Ahead of Election Day

Wonder's tour will kick off on Oct. 8 in Pittsburgh, Penn.

Stevie Wonder is on a mission.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the legendary singer announced dates for the Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation's Broken Heart tour in effort to influence voters ahead of Election Day.

The 10-date arena tour is set to kick off on Oct. 8 in Pittsburgh, Penn. The singer, 74, will then perform at battleground states, calling for “joy over anger, kindness over recrimination, peace over war," he said in a press release.

Wonder will perform in Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Tickets for the shows went on sale Friday, Sept. 20 on Ticketmaster.

Wonder named the upcoming tour off his recent single "Can We Fix Our Nation's Broken Heart," his first song in four years.

The tour announcement comes after Wonder performed at the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Aug. 23. He took the stage with John Legend and  Sheila E. to perform a cover of  Prince's "Let's Go Crazy."

Two days prior, he graced the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech in support of Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota governor Tim Walz. After his speech, he broke into a performance of hit 1973 track "Higher Ground."

“I love you. Every song that I’ve sing, every song that I’ve written is because of my love for you right here," he said at the time.

"But this year, I prayed very hard for peace to come to our world’s nations, but also to each one of our hearts, even though our hearts have been beaten and broken beyond prayer, I know the importance of action," Wonder said. “Now is the time to understand where we are and what it will take to win. Win the broken hearts, win the disenchanted, win the angry spirits. Now is the time.”

Wonder's last tour run was 2018's The Stevie Wonder Song Party.
