Staffordshire Terrier's Hilarious Symphony of Sounds Has Everyone Scratching Their Heads

Without the ability to use words, dogs employ different methods of communication. Some bark excitedly, and others howl with their tails of woe. But many remain quiet, using nothing more than a look to express their feelings.

However, this Staffordshire Terrier isn’t a fan of the silent treatment. In fact, it appears she’s come up with a language of her own.

Hear all she has to say in this video shared on September 4:

This adorable girl is quite expressive! Holly’s (@hollythebluestaffy) dad assures us she’s doing fine, even though these noises are hard to identify, especially since she’s almost like a ventriloquist with her mouth barely opened while she makes them. At first, I thought a chicken was in the car, but I soon realized it was the sound of this charming Staffordshire Terrier. Her father explains she makes these sounds when they arrive somewhere that makes her happy, and he lets her get it out of her system before they exit the vehicle. Her spirited performance concludes with a big yawn, signaling she’s ready to go on her adventure. LOL! She’s the best! It’s hard to do anything but smile after seeing such a genuinely cheerful dog.

Ways Dogs Communicate Happiness

Dogs communicate their happiness through various behaviors. In addition to barking and other cheerful vocalizations, a loose tail wag and a wiggly backend can also express their delight. Playfulness, such as the zoomies or a front-end bow, can show their desire to have fun. Some may communicate with facial expressions like a smile or soft eye contact to express their contentment. Luckily, besides being experts at sharing their many feelings, they also share abundant joy.

Pet parents were familiar with these unique vocalizations. Viewer @mwcoaching shared, “My Staffy makes the same and very similar sounds. And let’s not get started on the pigging and snorting language! Honestly, the best dogs with the funniest little sounds!” They know how to brighten our days without even trying. Another person responded, “She sounds exactly like my dog when we remove the hose or sprinkler. She’s a fiend for water.” Many get excited about water, as long as it’s not in the form of a bath. Viewer @michelleizme revealed, “I love her! Once, a lady approached me in the supermarket car park and said -I just knew you had a Staffy. I recognized the noises.” Once you know the language, it’s easy to pick out.

This charming girl is a delightful example of the joy dogs can bring into our everyday lives. Even if we are just running errands, they always know how to make the best of it.
