‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Hits Another Netflix Viewership Milestone; ‘Carry-On’ Aims To Fly Up Most Popular Films List
In just under three weeks, Squid Game Season 2 has become the third most-watched season of television ever on Netflix.
The seven-episode installment put up another 26.3M views from January 6 to 12, easily making it the most-watched title of the week. With 152.5M views since its December 26 premiere, it sits behind only Squid Game Season 1 and Wednesday in terms of all-time viewership.

However, there’s still plenty of time for it to best either or both of those, as there are still 72 days in the 91-day premiere window that Netflix uses to measure such accomplishments.
While much of the focus the last few weeks has been on the outsize success of Squid Game Season 2, it isn’t the only title making its mark on the streamer at the moment. After making it onto the English most popular films list at No. 5 last week, the Christmas airport thriller Carry-On put up another 7.2M views.
That means it’ll remain in fifth place for now, but this new week of viewership puts it on the cusp of overtaking both Bird Box and The Adam Project on the most popular list. It has plenty of time to do so, too, since there are 59 days left in the film’s premiere window.
Missing You was the big winner on the English TV list for the week with 15.2M views, while American Primeval debuted in second place with 10.4M views.
Notably, the Netflix debut of WWE’s Monday Night Raw drew 5.9M views, which was good enough for fourth place. Last week, the streamer said that the event saw 2.6M households tune in same-day, per data from VideoAmp, but it’s not possible to compare that to Netflix’s internal data. It’s also difficult to compare this to Raw‘s performance on USA Network, since any viewership data on that front came from Nielsen. The best way to get a pulse on any sort of success at this point will be to watch how Raw continues to perform on Netflix week-over-week.
On the film front, Tyler Perry just scored a nice milestone with The Six Triple Eight, which tallied another 4M views. It’s now Perry’s biggest Netflix film to date through its first four weeks with 69M views.
