Who is in the cast for Squid Game Season 2?
In Hwang Dong-hyuk's official Season 2 announcement, he said that main character Seong Gi-hun, played by Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae, would be returning. This makes sense, as we saw Gi-hun end Season 1 by deciding not to get on a plane to see his daughter in Los Angeles, instead opting to find out who is behind the games. Also confirmed to be returning are Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho, the detective who infiltrated the games who was last seen getting shot by his brother; and Lee Byung-hun as Hwang In-ho, Jun-ho's brother and revealed to be the "Front Man," the games' overseer. Gong Yoo will also make another appearance as a salesman who recruits players for the games.
Many new cast members have also been revealed for Squid Games Season 2. The list includes Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim, Lee David, Lee Jin-wook, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Won Ji-an, Park Gyu-young, Jeon Seok-ho, Kim Si-eun and Oh Dal-su.

Are any dead characters returning for Squid Game Season 2?
Of course, Squid Game Season 1 came with many casualties, considering that Gi-hun was the sole survivor, winning the obscene amount of prize money. Unfortunately, that leaves the chances of many of the breakout performers from reprising their roles in Season 2, something that Hyung has admitted in interviews he regrests.
"I want to revive Ji-young, but her best friend Sae-byeok also died, so I'm thinking what to do," he said in 2022 a joint news conference in Seoul with the series' crew and cast. So many characters died, especially beloved ones died. I'm sorry I killed them so easily; I didn't know this was coming."
That being said, it's clear from the Season 1 finale and Gi-hun is quite haunted by his experience in the games, not even touching his exorbitant windfall of cash. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibilities that we can see some ghosts from his past such as Sang-woo and Sae-byeok visiting him during his lowest moments back in the arena.
What is the plot of Squid Game Season 2?
According to Netflix's official press site, "Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 456 billion won."
Is Squid Game renewed for Season 3?
Yes! When Neflix announced the Season 2 release date for Squid Game, they also confirmed there would be a third, and final, season coming. Though we're certainly sad there won't be much more coming, we won't have to wait long for a resolution, as Season 3 plans to drop sometime in 2025.
