Squid Game Episode 6 Recap: Who Got Forked Up in a Bathroom Brawl?
Already this season, TVLine has recapped the game–changing reveal at the end of Episode 3… the outcome of the brutal men’s room brawl in Episode 6… and the action-packed finale, which teed up Season 3 with a tragic death. We also sang the praises of two cast members in our Performer of the Week column.
Now, let’s review the burning questions that we have about Season 2, kicking off with…
1) What the F…ront Man was this jazz club music box seen in Episode 3?
2) Speaking of the Front Man, is portrayer Lee Byung-hun the Korean Mads Mikkelsen?
3) Before In-ho was dramatically revealed as Player 001, had there been a different Player 001, and he/she was quietly replaced after “Red Light, Green Light”? Or did they gamble that no one would notice a Player 001 was missing from the first game?
4) Did anyone else do the math on how long the entire six-legged race pentathlon challenge must have taken…?! You had 365 players, which divides into 73 five-person teams. Running two five-minute races run at a time, with maybe 10 minutes for (ahem) clean-up between… that equals more than nine hours of sitting, if you were among the last to compete! Speaking of which….
5) With each running of pentathlon races, didn’t the observing teams gain more and more of an advantage? By picking up on hacks and tips and no-nos?
6) What if the Front Man, despite his efforts, wound up on a six-legged race team of inept losers that wound up having to be shot? Was there a plan to use “blanks” on him, or…?
7) Is In-ho (the Front Man) that bad at the spinning top, or was he just making his team sweat?
8) Was the ruling on Gi-hun and Player 001’s joint final jegichagi “kick” (seen above) pretty damn generous?
9) Was Player 001/In-ho telling the truth about having a sick wife?
10) After police detective Jun-ho’s at-sea search team triggered that storm door booby trap, didn’t it seem as if they were still “searching” for the island? Um, had they not found it…?
11) Was the women’s bathroom always up a flight of day-glo stairs? In Season 1 (when Sae-byeok went there to access/crawl through the air ducts), it seemed like it was just off the dormitory. (Then again, Season 1 was ages ago.)
12) In the event of an insurrection such as the one in Episode 7, doesn’t it seem like the game masters would have the option to simply flood the dorm with knockout gas?
13) Would you have relied on jittery af Dae-ho to fetch the ammo clips?
14) Should Gi-hun have been a little (OK, a lot) more leery of this game’s Player 001, given the Season 1 reveal that blindsided him?
15) What was the biggest recruitment coinky-dink: Gi-hun’s good friend Jung-bae being among the players… a son and his mother… pregnant Jun-hee and her baby daddy… or No-Eul (aka Soldier 011) and the father (Player 246) of the little girl she bonded with at the amusement park?
Or were those all on purpose, because the game masters are that sick of bastards?
