Sony Reveals First ’28 Years Later’ Poster & Teaser With Morse Code Clue
Nearly two decades after the last installment, the first look at 28 Years Later raises more questions than answers — one being, “Does anyone know morse code?”
Sony debuted the first poster and teaser for the zombie sequel on Friday, ahead of the Alex Garland-written, Danny Boyle-directed film’s June 20, 2025 premiere, featuring a morse code message over a series of cryptic images.

Ralph Fiennes Reveals ’28 Years Later’ Trilogy Plot Details: “Two Have Been Shot”
According to one comment, the message spells “Tuesday,” which hopefully means a longer sneak peek to come this week.
The 13-second promo includes flashes of red skulls, the biohazard symbol, a bird’s-eye view of an island and a scarecrow with an arrow through its head.
The 28 Years Later poster features more of the red skulls in the shape of the biohazard symbol, billing stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes at the top. “Time didn’t heal anything,” reads the tagline.
Fiennes previously detailed the upcoming installment, which is the first in a new trilogy. “Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities,” he told IndieWire. “And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.”
For the following installment, entitled 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, Nia DaCosta was in talks to direct earlier this year, with a script by Garland.
After starring in 28 Days Later (2002) and sitting out the 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later, Cillian Murphy reprises his role in 28 Years Later as Jim, a former bicycle courier who previously woke from a coma to find the ‘Rage Virus’ has decimated London. He also serves as an executive producer.
The upcoming sequel also features Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman and Edvin Ryding.
