How you might know Mel's hot dad on “Virgin River”
He's a singer. He's an actor. He's Scottish.
Virgin River is a very small town, so it isn't often that we get to see new faces, but in the show's sixth season, the Netflix drama introduced a brand new storyline ... in the past.
By telling the story of Mel's parents, Everett and Sarah, the show's added new actors Callum Kerr and Jessica Rothe for a storyline that goes back in time and finally gives Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) the answers she's been hoping for ever since she discovered that Everett (played in present day by John Allen Nelson) is her birth father. Specifically, as she prepares for her wedding to Jack (Martin Henderson), she spends much of her time trying to get to know her father, asking Everett endless questions about his relationship with her mother.

In the past, we get to watch Sarah and Everett fall in love after some hitchhiking, a bit of camping, and at least one song played around a campfire. And depending on your particular social media algorithm, there's a chance you spent a lot of their scenes wondering where you knew that incredibly attractive man from.
Kerr has nearly 700,000 followers on TikTok — and nearly 600k on Instagram — where he describes himself as an actor, country singer, and Scottish. Two of those things play into his role as Everett. (The third? We wish.)

Virgin River is not Kerr's first acting gig — he was most notably in seven episodes of Fox's short-lived Monarch and will appear in the upcoming third season of Wheel of Time — but it's safe to say the Netflix hit is his biggest platform to date. And there's a chance this is only the beginning of his run as Everett, given that a spinoff about Mel's parents has been in the works for a while now.
But until then, if you need more Kerr, there's always social media.
Virgin River season 6 is out now on Netflix.
