Solid Homme Is All Jazzed Up for Fall 2025

South Korean brand Solid Homme jazzed things up for fall with a collection intended for that moment when the clock hits five on a Friday and workaday dressers shed their tightly wound corporate uniforms.

So designer Woo Young Mi set the stage for models to mingle around the bar of Casino de Paris and cued up a jazz band to set the mood. The idea let her loose this season and she softened up her sport codes with brushed velvet, silk and a shapelier silhouette. The red velvet backdrop of the club added to the laid-back, louche vibe.

She experimented with looser, shorter shapes on jackets and pleated trousers, and presented a new perspective on suiting with a satin pant and pinstriped puffer jacket cinched at the waist with a thin belt, complete with a matching cravat. More conventional takes on suits were softer this season, with dropped shoulders and gently rounded sleeves on blazers.

The color palette popped with a ruby red and royal blue, and the house played with print this season, creating a vinyl record motif swirled into a lucky 8.

Woo also twisted the conventions of workwear with crocheted ties, belts and vests, an on-trend texture thanks to Instagram and TikTok influencers who have taken up the craft. The collection was generally rich in texture, including a teddy bear textile fluffed up into a bomber jacket, and brushed velvet on other outerwear.

Chunky, brightly colored cardigans and ample amounts of argyle on socks and sweaters added to the vintage vibe. There was a dash of dandy in the juxtaposition, deftly handled by stylist Julian Ganio.

Solid Homme is the quiet elder statesman to sibling brand Wooyoungmi, with both lines overseen by Woo. But while the 30-year-old Solid Homme shows in Paris, it has relatively little retail space outside of South Korea. That is poised to change as the label looks to grow its wholesale network outside of its home country this year, with a particular eye on the U.K.

To be fair, the idea that anyone anywhere is wearing a suit 9 to 5 seems a bit far-fetched in the work from home era, but the youthful take on dressing hit a welcome high note.
