Will Smith Is All Smiles at First Awards Show Since Chris Rock Oscars Slap

Will Smith has arrived at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking his first major award show appearance since the infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap.

Almost three years after the chaotic incident went down in March 2022, Smith arrived at the Crypto.com Arena for the 67th annual Grammy Awards, where he was also set to serve as one of the evening's presenters.

While walking the red carpet at music's biggest night on Sunday, Feb. 2, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum appeared to be all smiles, a stark contrast to the last time he was seen at a big award show presentation.

It was the slap heard around the world when Smith stomped on stage to slap Rock across the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair. (The actress has been open about her battle with alopecia, a medical condition characterized by hair loss.)

After Rock's cheeky quip, Smith made it very clear that he wanted Rock to keep Pinkett Smith's name "out of [his] f--king mouth"—then took the situation into his own hands, literally, and went on stage to physically accost Rock—on a live national broadcast, no less.

As a result, Smith was banned from the Oscars until 2032.

But that's not keeping him away from the Grammys, as he will take the stage to hand out an award. Plus, his own daughter, Willow Smith, earned her first-ever Grammy nominations this year, getting nods for Best Arrangement: Instrument and Vocals and Best Engineered Album, Non Classical.
