Shoppers Are Sprinting to Target Over the Return of This 'Must-Have' Nostalgic Staple Item

After years of getting a bad rap, soda is officially having a moment and honestly, someone needs to give soda’s PR team a raise. The rebrand of the century happened right under our noses, and it’s completely upended the way we think about soda for good.

Now, instead of whispering to your server that you want a Coke or Dr. Pepper like you’re being watched by the soda police, you can order a truly zero sugar option that still tastes as good as the OG. The marketplace has been flooded with healthier alternatives like Poppi, Ollipop and Zevia paving the way for a new, more discerning generation of soda connoisseurs altogether

In a way, the recent surge in better-for-you sodas is democratizing and allows populations of individuals who were once gatekept from the joys of sugar laden bubbly bliss access to perhaps one of mankind's greatest inventions. Beyond just cutting the sugar, though, there are plenty of brands that are focusing on making soda better for your gut too, with buzzy brands offering pre and probiotic options. Even legacy brands that were once lost to time are making splashy returns, and the latest one to hit Target is one that tastes almost as good as a fresh slice.

That’s right folks, according to @targetfantic, Slice Soda is back! And this time, the fan-favorite treat has a decidedly healthy twist. The classic '80s fruit-flavored soda made its debut at Target stores and comes in a variety of flavors like orange, strawberry (a Target exclusive), lemon lime and grapefruit spritz.

Instead of the usual sugary punch Slice is known for, the new iteration features a meager 5-grams of sugar and gets a healthy boost from pre, pro and postbiotics. Talk about an upgrade. Additionally, each 12-fluid-ounce can features no high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or sweeteners, making this a grab-and-go soda you can feel good about.

As expected, soda fans were overjoyed at Slice’s rebrand with the overwhelming sentiment being that they’re “Soo good!” With that, our new year's resolution to drink less soda just went out the window. At least this one’s better for you.
