She Texted Her Mom That She Was 'Feeling Anxious.' What Happened Next Had Her in Tears (Exclusive)

"The way they have continually showed up for me and for my siblings has been a blessing," Breanna Lambert tells PEOPLE of her parents

A college student has gone viral on TikTok after sharing footage of her family driving 600 miles to surprise her, after she sent her mom a text to say she was "feeling anxious."

It was shortly before 3 p.m. that Breanna Lambert sent her a mom a text asking if she was available.

"Can you call me when you're free please?" she wrote, to which her mom responded, "Yes. Everything okay?"

"Ya I'm just feeling anxious and wanted to chat," Lambert responded.

Just over an hour later, her parents surprised her while she was working out at the gym — and they captured the heartwarming moment on camera.

Lambert, a full-time student at Kansas State University, shared the moment on TikTok, writing that her parents drove some 600 miles to see her in Manhattan, Kansas, from their home in southern Wisconsin. (Of the time-defying trip, Lambert tells PEOPLE that her parents were already en route to her when she'd sent the text; she chalks it up to "mother's intuition.")

In the video, Lambert can be seen walking on a treadmill and turning around in surprise to see her parents striding toward in her. She then bursts into tears and gives them a hug.

"I have an awesome relationship with my parents," Lambert tells PEOPLE. "My mom is truly one of my best friends, and our relationship has only gotten stronger over my years away at college."

"My parents have set that standard in the past," she says. "It did not shock me that they went all that way just to give me a hug. The way they have continually showed up for me and for my siblings has been a blessing."

Lambert adds that she recognizes that "not everyone receives this kind of parental love," saying: "I hope my video can be an inspiration to future parents, to always be there for your kids. I have so much comfort and security in life knowing I have them in my corner, at all times."
