Shaynna Blaze says it's 'onwards and upwards' after split

It’s been a big year for The Block and Selling Houses Australia star Shaynna Blaze, complete with ups and downs in both her professional and personal life.

The 55-year-old certainly didn’t let her recent separation from husband Steve Vaughan get in the way of a great night at the 2018 AACTA Awards on Wednesday, and in fact, she says she’s coping as best as she can.

“I feel great,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle when asked about how she’s feeling after the emotional past few months. “Onwards and upwards,” she added.

Shaynna plans on unwinding after a busy year and spending Christmas with those nearest and dearest to her.

“[I’ll be] just doing nothing,” she revealed. “Just hanging, catching up with my girlfriends, my family, all of the people I haven’t been able to catch up with the past 12 months.”

In August Shaynna revealed she and husband Steve were separating after 18 years of marriage.

Taking to Instagram, she shared the news with her fans and asked for privacy during the tough time.

“Sometimes in life, our paths change directions and now this is one of those times for me with Steve and I separating,” read her message.

“I will not be making any further statements about this and whilst I appreciate your support I ask that you respect our right to privacy.”

After meeting at a bar in Melbourne almost two decades ago, the pair dated for 11 months before tying the knot.

Shaynna has two children, Jesse and Carly, from a previous relationship.

She’s been on television screens as a judge on The Block alongside Darren Palmer and Neale Whitaker, Channel Nine’s Buying Blind and has been a presenter on Selling Houses Australia since 2008.
