Shannen Doherty shares 'petrifying' video ahead of brain surgery
Shannen recently announced her breast cancer had spread to her brain.
Shannen Doherty recently revealed to her fans that her terminal breast cancer has now spread to her brain, with the star taking to Instagram to share a candid video of herself before getting brain surgery.
The 90210 star shared the video on Thursday of the surgery, which took place in January, telling her followers she was "trying to be brave" but was "petrified".
"I had a tumour in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy," she wrote. "I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified. The fear was overwhelming to me. Scared of all possible bad outcomes, worried about leaving my mom and how that would impact her. Worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore. This is what cancer can look like."
In the video, Shannen is speaking with a medical professional before the surgery and is sitting in a hospital bed, wearing a hospital gown and hair net.

The star has been open about her cancer treatment, showing the realities of how she's feeling.
In one video, Shannen is seen crying during her first round of radiation, with the actress sharing, "January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life.
"I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at Cedar Sinai. But that fear...The turmoil... the timing of it all... This is what cancer can look like."
Her followers and friends have shared support for the star on her posts, with Sarah Michelle Gellar writing, "You are a warrior."
"This is a lot to take on, still again," Selma Blair added. "And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love."
"Rooting for you, my irreplaceable friend," Kevin Smith wrote. "You have been such a fearless fighter your whole life, so it’s understandable to be a little scared from time to time. But when those moments pass, let that indomitable Doherty spirit take over anew. I love you so much, my Mallrat."
"Praying for you," Harry Connick Jr added.
"There will be people seeing this who are going through their own journey or know somebody who is," one follower wrote. "Those people will feel less alone, because of you. It’s those, 'scared' moments that make us what we are. Human."
"Thanks for being transparent," another said. "I’m your age with lung cancer (non-smoker) Helps to see others have the same struggles."
Many others shared that Shannen was an "inspiration" and a "fighter".
Shannen was first diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as a single mastectomy before entering remission in 2017. In 2018, she revealed her tumour markers were "elevated", and in 2020, her cancer returned in stage four.
