Shaboozey is taking notes from Blue Ivy Carter!

While speaking to E! News on the red carpet ahead of the 2025 Grammys in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 2, the 29-year-old “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” hitmaker, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, admitted to learning a thing or two from Beyoncé’s 13-year-old daughter.

“She invited us out there three days early just to watch her do what she does,” Shaboozey said of the “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker, 43.

The Grammy-nominated newcomer is featured ontwo songs from Beyoncé’s latest album Cowboy Carter: “SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN'” and “SPAGHETTII.”

“She's so focused, she's commanding, she's giving instructions, she's there just as much as everybody else is,” he told the outlet. “It's not like an in-and-out thing, she's there watching the playback.”

He added that Queen Bey isn’t the only member of the Carter family he’s learned from.

“Blue's giving notes,” Shaboozey said. “She's giving notes, She's a young director. Young visionary. young filmmaker. I can see it 'cause I direct, too.”

The “Start a Riot” singer continued, “When I saw her making shoot ideas and making scene changes, it was just like, it was so cool to see them being creative.”

In addition to Blue Ivy, Shaboozey previously told PEOPLE which artists inspired him.

“Johnny Cash was something that resonated with me very early on," he said last year. "Marty Robbins too. I loved Marty Robbins. His voice was just so sweet and distinct. Just seeing the parallels between country music, [with] the storytelling, and hip-hop, I was like, ‘Oh man, they’re kind of talking about the same things.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed rising to the top of the charts in such a short period of time, adding: “It feels like a dream. It feels like I’m definitely going to wake up at some point and be like, ‘Damn, that s--- was a dream?’”

This year, Shaboozey is nominated for five Grammys, including song of the year, best new artist and best country solo performance.
