“This morning we woke up to a visit from not one, not two, not even three...but SEVEN Republic Services trash trucks swinging by to wish my blue-truck obsessed 3-year old a happy birthday!!

“What a fantastic way to start the weekend and put a cherry on top of Lena’s birthday-week celebration!!

“Times are hard right now, but the world is good & people are kind. Maybe that’s why I can’t stop crying when I think about how awesome this surprise was!”

Next up was Jackson Crosby, turning four.

Jackson loves garbage trucks and his local trash collectors, so his neighbours had the idea to surprise him and organised six decorated trucks to drive past his house last Friday , with the family and neighbours out in their driveways to celebrate.

Jackson’s mum said even they had no idea about the surprise.

“As parents you just want to do the best you can for your children,” she tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“We were trying to come up with ideas on how to celebrate Jackson’s birthday, but it was our neighbours who ended up planning the surprise and we were just blown away.

“We had no idea they were doing this! Every Friday when the trash trucks come by since he was little, they’ve always waved at him and taken the time to smile and honk their horn,” she adds.

“Jackson is fascinated by the sound.”
