Serena Williams is reflecting on her "favorite" look she's worn on the court.

While appearing on the Thursday, July 4, episode of Hot Ones, the 42-year-old athlete took a look back at some of her most iconic tennis ensembles. When host Sean Evans showed Williams a photo from the 2004 US Open — where she wore a denim skirt and black studded Nike tank top — she shared that the look was inspired by fellow tennis great Andre Agassi.

"This one's my favorite," she said. "One of the most iconic moments in tennis for me was when Andre Agassi wore jean shorts. I was like, 'How do we do that?'"

Agassi wore the denim shorts, which he paired with a white polo, at the 1989 US Open in Flushing Meadows Park, New York.

Williams continued, "I said, 'It could be jean, I'll wear jeans on the court.' And they were like, 'No, we're gonna make it a fabric that actually works.' And so that was a modern version of what Andre actually did. It was literally one of my favorite outfits ever."

Evans brought up some of Williams' other memorable tennis ensembles, including the brown and lilac tutu dress she wore for the 2018 US Open. The eye-catching look was a collaboration between Nike and the late Virgil Abloh of Off-White.

"That was literally one of my favorite dresses of all time," she told Evans. "I love tutus, I love ballet, I love dance. I love that feminine look. That was right up my alley in such a way that I can't... I remember he designed it and I was like, 'I can't believe I never thought about this before. Like seriously, Virgil?'"

Williams previously gushed about the dress in a 2020 interview with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, in which she also shared that she still wears the dress off the court.

"I think it's so fun to have fun with fashion and in my sport, I have a great opportunity to play in something really wild and really fun and really express myself," she said. "Most people only see me on the court."
