Earlier this year, Duchess Meghan returned to Instagram and announced that she would starring in her very own Netflix original series titled, With Love, Meghan. The show is an unscripted series that showcases Meghan and her refreshingly down-to-earth lifestyle. In the trailer, we see the duchess offering tips on baking, tablescaping and more. Through conversations with her famous house guests, we learn more about Meghan’s personal taste and outlook on life.
The show was originally set to premiere in January, but was postponed until March 4 due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Yesterday, Serena Williams paid Meghan and her daughter Princess Lilibet a visit. The duchess shared three snaps to her Instagram stories documenting the heartfelt gathering. On one of the posts, Meghan writes, “When the aunties come to celebrate... and to play! Love you @serenawilliams.” Another reads, “3 days until the party begins. All are invited ❤️ @netflix.”
The final Instagram Story posted was a sweet black-and-white image of Meghan and Williams sharing an embrace.
Williams and Meghan have been friends and supporters of each other for years. In 2022, Williams was Meghan’s first-ever guest on her Spotify podcast, Archetypes. During the podcast episode, the two bonded over difficulties that come with being moms in the spotlight. Williams also showed up for Meghan after she and her husband, Prince Harry, did a two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey. The interview detailed some of the most harrowing experiences from her time as a senior member of the royal family, including racist British press coverage, concerning double standards regarding her son, and suicidal thoughts brought on at the height of her pregnancy and tabloid frenzy.
Meghan has reciprocated this loving energy on several occasions. The duchess loves cheering for her dear friend and tennis star from the stands. She has been spotted at countless matches including the US Open in 2019, where she rooted for Williams alongside her mother, Oracene Price.
