Selling Sunset has made its long-awaited return to Netflix, and fans may be shocked by some of its unexpected showdowns.
In season 8, which premiered on Friday, Sept. 6, viewers got to see loose ends from season 7 finally be tied up by the Oppenheim Group realtors. However, fans will also witness fresh feuds unfold between their favorite L.A. agents — Chrishell Stause, Chelsea Lazkani, Emma Hernan, Bre Tiesi, Mary Bonnet, Nicole Young, Amanza Smith and O Group founders Brett and Jason Oppenheim.
Though viewers officially said goodbye to longtime cast member Heather Rae El Moussa in season 7, they’ll also get to know series newcomer Alanna Gold as she makes her debut this season.
Keep reading to get a rundown of all the biggest bombshells in Selling Sunset season 8.
Bre Tiesi Learns Chelsea Lazkani’s Husband Is Cheating on Her
Whether she wanted to be or not, Tiesi was involved in Lazkani’s shocking divorce from her husband Jeff after nearly seven years of marriage.
In episode 3, Tiesi learns from her friend Amanda that Lazkani’s husband was spotted “making out” with another woman. Despite her long-lasting feud with Lazkani, Tiesi decides to tell her fellow agent what she heard as the two sit down for a drink.
“A friend I’ve known for a couple of years, Amanda, asked to go to lunch,” she explains to Lazkani in episode 5. “She told me that her friend, who she’s still very close with and sees, lives at the W Hotel in Hollywood, and that he saw your husband with some girl…”
She notes that her friend Amanda had text message “receipts” that said Lazkani’s husband was seen “making out” with the woman at the hotel. While Tiesi claims she only had good intentions with bringing this information to Lazkani, things start to get messy when fellow agents Stause and Hernan get involved and question why she would bring up a sensitive topic like this on camera.
“Can you clarify if the scene with Amanda was set up by you?” Stause asks Tiesi over the phone as she sits with Lazkani and Hernan in episode 7. In disbelief over what they’re accusing her of, Tiesi ends the conversation with, “Now I’m starting to get really f---ing pissed.”
The situation ends on a rocky note when Tiesi blows off a lunch with Hernan and Stause, and later unfollows Hernan on Instagram.
There's a New Agent in Town
Viewers meet Alanna Gold in the first episode, and she reveals she grew up in a rural town in Canada, she’s 32 years old and she’s been in real estate for three years. She also shares one very unique detail about her personal real estate portfolio — she owns a functioning Old West town in the desert called Pioneertown that was once a movie set.
Gold later invites the agents to stay in the California town and experience what it’s all about, though only Bonnet, Smith and Young make the trip.
Despite learning that she lost an important Manhattan Beach listing to Bonnet and Lazkani in episode 2, Gold proves that she’s up for any challenge in the highly competitive real estate industry — especially when Brett trusts her with a work-in-progress property in Hollywood Hills that ends up presenting multiple challenges.
Nicole Young Claims Emma Hernan Was Involved with a Married Man
In episode 5, Young says she heard something about Hernan that is “morally upsetting” and could “really affect marriages” while visiting Pioneertown with Gold, Smith and Bonnet. Though she doesn’t specify what exactly she heard, Young later talks to Gold, who advises that she ask Hernan directly if the rumor was true.
In episode 10, Young tells Gold that she “respectfully” didn’t take her advice and reveals what the rumor is.
“I did hear from a reliable source that Emma has likely had relations with a married man. And if Chelsea’s going through what I think she’s going through, it’s pretty messed up that Emma would act so righteous about it,” Young says in a confessional-style clip. “I think if the roles were reversed, I don’t think she’d be going out of her way to protect a rumor she’d heard about me.”
In the final episode, she brings her intel to Tiesi, who responds with a mischievous smile, “Not a husband snatcher…” She adds, “At this point, I have zero loyalty. I feel like me being a good person, or trying to be, has only backfired on me. So at this point, gloves are off.”
Before the season premiered and viewers knew what the rumor was, Stause and Lazkani took to social media to defend Hernan by saying the “damaging lie” Young spreads in season 8 is not true.

Mary Bonnet and Chelsea Lazkani Go Head to Head
A brand-new feud may shock viewers in episode 1 when Bonnet reveals she had a falling out with Lazkani for referring to her as “the biggest pot-stirrer in the office” during a Q&A on social media. Bonnet says she was “blindsided” when Lazkani then texted her saying, “Keep my f---ing name out of your mouth.”
Later, in episode 3, tensions escalate when Bonnet approaches Lazkani to talk about what happened and see if they can move forward during Smith’s 47th birthday party. The conversation goes south and the agents start yelling at each other to the point where Bonnet’s husband Romain gets involved, making Lazkani angrier.
Despite the intense exchange, the two are able to move past their differences during an emotional scene in episode 4 when Bonnet sheds tears after Lazkani apologizes. Lazkani notes that she “feels closer” to Bonnet after they both opened up about the “traumas” they experienced when they were younger.
Bre Tiesi’s Ex-Husband Johnny Manziel Acknowledges He Cheated on Her
In episode 6, Tiesi reveals she’s helping her ex-husband, retired NFL player Johnny Manziel, find a new house. The two tour a $4 million property together and end up having a heart-to-heart about why their marriage came to an end in 2019.
“Life goes the way that it’s supposed to go,” Manziel tells Tiesi during the episode. “You are in a position now where you got exactly what you wanted in life. And I’m proud of you for that and I’m happy for you.”
He continues, “I learned a lot about what I handled wrong. I was a lost, depressed kid running around the Hollywood Hills getting drunk every night and living in a nightclub. And a lot of time behind your back probably.”
Tiesi cuts in, “Oh, you spent a lot of time with someone else on their back, but yes it’s fine," referencing infidelity during their marriage.
Manziel responds with a laugh, “Yes Bre, yes. I know.” He adds, “And I still feel bad to this day about treating you like that. Getting divorced after we broke up was one of the hardest points in my life, and I cried and I begged and I pleaded.”

Mary Bonnet and Jason Oppenheim’s Dog Dies at 18 Years Old
Bonnet and Jason share an emotional moment together in episode 8 when the Oppenheim Group founder reveals their 18-year-old dog Niko has kidney failure and only has a few days left to live. The two, who used to date, shared custody of Niko since their split.
Later that episode, Jason’s twin brother Brett tells all of the agents that Niko died and he breaks down in tears. Jason then hosts a potluck at his home and reveals he and Mary used Niko’s ashes to tattoo their arms in honor of their beloved dog.
They hold an elaborate funeral that’s attended by all of the agents and their close friends in the next episode. After the emotional service, Tiesi, Lazkani, Stause and Hernan start arguing about the same issue of whether Tiesi planned to bring up Lazkani’s husband’s infidelity on camera all along.
Bonnet later says she was “appalled by the behavior” of her fellow agents as it was disrespectful for them to fight at Niko’s funeral.
