The year was 1994: The Friends pilot was premiering, the Spice Girls were, well, spicin' up the pop world, and InStyle was launching its inaugural issue with the one and only Barbra Streisand on the cover. In the iconic cover, the legendary singer posed in beige slacks, leg warmers, and a printed sweater vest (because they never go out of style).

Thirty years later, the publication has featured countless superstars, like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Viola Davis, Julia Roberts, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Quinta Brunson, and Iman, as well as powerful voices across numerous industries, like Joe Biden and Tarana Burke. With every issue, InStyle has empowered people everywhere to be their badass selves.

On September 12, 2024, the storied publication celebrated its 30th birthday with a stunning cover starring Gen Z's favorite rising pop girly Reneé Rapp and a star-studded b'day bash at the Boom Boom Room in New York City. From cover girl Rapp to Nina Dobrev, Darren Criss, Brittany Snow, Ali Krieger, Gayle King, and more, the step-and-repeat was teeming with star power. The celebs arrived in their best to commemorate the milestone with some decked out in jewels and accessories supplied by sponsors Pandora and Longchamp.

From Rapp's frill-infused menswear to Snow's ethereal sequined white gown, scroll to see the guests in their festive birthday looks.
