A couple of months ago, after slightly spiraling about the state of my bleach-damaged hair and fragile nails, I decided it would be a good time to add a collagen supplement into my daily routine. (I know what you’re thinking, but putting down the bleach or curbing my gel nail habit is not going to happen!). Our bodies' natural collagen production slows with age, so taking collagen supplements may benefit the skin, hair, and nails. Unfortunately, aside from being expensive, most collagen supplements I’ve tried tasted bitter and had a gritty texture that didn’t mix well with water or coffee.

After trying a few different brands, my short-lived collagen journey was put on pause—at least until I found one I could tolerate. A few weeks later, I saw an email in my inbox about Clöud Café, a line of marine collagen supplements that come in flavors like Churro Latte, Vanilla Latte, Royal Milk Tea, and Matcha Latte. I was skeptical, but these flavors sounded delicious.

Clöud Café was created by Olive Kim, co-founder of the Korean Beauty megabrand, The Creme Shop. Collagen supplements, whether it be in the form of drinks or gummies, are hugely popular in Korea because collagen may offer beauty-boosting benefits like firmer, better-hydrated skin, and stronger hair and nails. After all, Korean beauty trends are always centered around this idea of plump, healthy, glowy skin, and achieving that comes from within.

In terms of benefits, besides marine collagen (collagen derived from fish skin) for anti-aging properties, the drink packets contain skin-healthy ingredients like hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin, Chaga to boost immunity, probiotics to aid digestion, and multivitamins like B12 to support skin glow and sustained energy levels.

The best part? They taste delicious. The Churro Latte flavor is my favorite; I mix it with unsweetened oat milk, and it’s right on par with an $8 latte you’d get from a trendy coffee shop and dream about for the next week because it was that good. It has 42 milligrams of caffeine (a normal cup of coffee has about 95-130 milligrams), so it makes the perfect midday treat without any crash or tummy upset. That said, if you’re looking for more caffeine, the Vanilla Latte flavor has 144 milligrams.

I’ll never be the person who chugs wellness shots or green juice just because it’s “good for me,” so this tasty and energy-boosting collagen powder has become a staple in my routine. I’m still waiting to see significant results (supplements are a marathon, not a sprint!), but the powders taste so good that I’m enjoying the process.
