Scott Cam barely recognisable in new promo for The Block 2023

Channel Nine has released a brand new teaser for season 19.

The Block host Scott Cam has left viewers baffled after he appeared in a new teaser for the reality show’s upcoming nineteenth season looking barely recognisable.

While the 60-year-old TV star has had a signature buzz cut in recent seasons of the Channel Nine series, the new trailer shows him rocking a styled grey wig.

He is also seen wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket to fit with the season’s 1950s theme.

The new season will feature five Blockhead couples tasked with renovating “five incredible Aussie homes direct from the ‘50s” on Charming Street in Melbourne’s Hampton East.

Fans have since taken to social media to share their honest thoughts on Scott’s 'transformation'.

“Not so sure about Scotty’s hairpiece,” one person wrote, while another remarked, “Has Scotty got new feathers?”.

“Scotty looks like he has been using Richard Wilkins’s hairdresser,” a third joked, followed by someone else who agreed, “I thought it was Wilko at first”.

“Has anyone else thought Scotty looks like Donald Trump?” a different user commented.

Meanwhile, Scott’s co-host Shelley Craft is dressed in hot pink pants with a yellow belt and a yellow and white polka dot halter neck top in the teaser clip. She has also accessorised with bright red lipstick, dangly gold earrings and a retro hairstyle.

The trailer, which is set to The Rocky Horror Picture Show song Time Warp, also introduces viewers to the five new couples: Kyle and Leslie Cottone, Ash and Leah Milton, Kristy and Brett Beams, Gianpietro and Steph Ottavio, and sisters Eliza and Liberty Paschke.

The video also teases a major first for The Block, with Scott revealing the entire renovation schedule to the contestants.

Although Channel Nine is yet to announce a launch date for the new season, the previous five seasons have all premiered in August.
