How to score free flights to Canada
Travel bugs are being extended the offer of a lifetime, with one company offering flights from Australia to Canada – for free.
However the deal is not without a catch, and would-be travellers must take advantage of the offer by purchasing the 22-night ‘Polar Bear and Canada Fair’ trip which includes a 10-night cruise around Newfoundland’s rugged coast.
Although pricey – options start from $16,695 twin-share – the holiday promises to be an unforgettable one.
On the cross-country agenda is three-nights’ pre-cruise accommodation in Montreal and two nights in both Toronto and Vancouver following the trip.
A once-in-a-lifetime four-day jaunt to the ‘polar bear capital of the world’ in icy Churchill, northern Ontario, also helps explain the trip’s steep price tag.
Meanwhile if Canada isn’t top of your travel list, there’s some other deals around.
If you’re willing to foot the flights’ bill and scrimp on the extras, Virgin Australia is offering what they’ve dubbed a ‘sale of the decade’ on flights to the USA.
Fares include Brisbane to Los Angeles from $949 return, Melbourne to San Francisco from $1,046 return, Melbourne to New York from $1,106 return and Sydney to Las Vegas from $1,046 return.
For travellers seeking something hot, an equally inviting deal sees the price of a nine-day trip to Botswana slashed by almost a third to $2,648 per person twin-share
The rugged country is known for its otherworldly safaris, huge inland deltas – and famously provided the backdrop to where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first fell in love.
As part of the offer, sun seekers will be treated to a 4×4 trip through Chobe National Park, up close glimpses of Victoria Falls and an unforgettable lodge stay overlooking an elephant water hole.
