Warning: This post contains spoilers from the latest episode of The Masked Singer.

She might be good as gold, but Scheana Shay won’t be bringing home the Golden Mask trophy on The Masked Singer season 13.

The Vanderpump Rules alum, 39, made her debut a Bat on the Fox signing competition’s Voices of Olympus night on Wednesday, March 5, going up against Boogie Woogie, Griffin, Space Ranger and Pearl. Shay sang Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Espresso,” and judges Ken JeongJenny McCarthyRita Ora and Robin Thicke suspected she might be Real Housewives Bethenny Frankel, Larsa Pippen or Lisa Rinna.

“Everyone they guessed me as was a compliment, and [they're] all people I'm either fans or friends of, so I loved the guesses,” Shay tell PEOPLE. “If I would've made it onto the second episode, I feel like they might've guessed me because there were more clues in that package that I felt like were so obvious.”

The “Good as Gold” singer, who shares 3-year-old daughter Summer Moon with husband Brock Davies, ultimately received the fewest votes from the judges and studio audience and unmasked at the end of the March 5 episode. Shay has been on Bravo since 2013, but doing a competition show “was a first for me,” she says. “I'm like, ‘Wait, how many viewers do we have?’ It's a lot. It's more than VPR. So that was a little intimidating, but also, I'm in a mask, and if people want to say whatever they do, I'm used to that. I had fun.”

Shay shares her hesitancies about going on The Masked Singer, what her daughter thinks about her being a TV star and whether she’ll be involved with The Valley season 2.

PEOPLE: Were you disappointed by being the first one out of your group?
SCHEANA SHAY: I didn't want to come on at all, if I'm being honest. When I got the call, I was like, "Nope, nope, absolutely not. I am not doing that." After being on Vanderpump Rules and people making fun of me for doing music when I'm like, I've never wanted to be a pop star. It was just always something as a fun side hobby. I love performing, I love making music, I love doing all of this, but it's never been priority No. 1. So when I got this opportunity, I just didn't want another thing to be made fun of for singing on national television. It took some convincing from my team and a great conversation with [executive producer] Deena Katz, but it was such an incredible experience and I'm glad I got that push that I needed because I would've missed out on an incredible opportunity. That is something that I want my daughter to grow up and do, to not be afraid of the unknown and to take chances.

Is Summer Moon a fan of The Masked Singer?
I've watched the show with her this season, and it's a fun show for kids to watch. I didn't bring her to set. I wanted to, and honestly, if I made it further, I might've brought her the second day. But I'm like, then what if she goes to school and she's telling her friends. But it was around Halloween, so I'm like, they would probably just think like, "Oh, yeah. Mommy dressed up as a bat." But yeah, so I'm excited for her to just be able to watch it tonight with our friends and family, and to see me take it off. And she'll be so excited.

Does she understand that you're on TV and you're a celebrity?
Yes and no. We'll be at Disneyland, for example, and someone comes up and will ask for a photo and then she'll get in the photo sometimes. And there have been times where she asks, "Mommy, do you know them?" Or, "Why did they ask you for a picture?" And I tell her, "Honey, you know how sometimes you watch Mommy on TV and how you're on TV?" And she goes, "Yeah." I go, "Other people watch that show too." And she was like, "What?" I don't think she really understands. She just knows that she sees herself on TV, and I explained that other people watch that channel. And she's like, "Wow."

Do you have any guesses for anyone remaining on the show?
No, I am terrible at this. Every episode I've watched, I'm like, "No clue.” The year that Vanessa Hudgens won, my sister was like, "Oh, Vanessa Hudgens. High School Musical." For me, I'm like, "Wow, you have an incredible voice." And I even remember being backstage and hearing Griffin perform, and I'm like, "Who is this man? He's so good." So I'm just as excited as everyone else for all of them to get unmasked, because I have no clue. I would be a terrible judge on that show. I could never be hired.

You did said in your clue package you're often misunderstood a lot and you’ve been villainized since appearing on reality TV. What do you think viewers don’t know about you at this point?
I feel like there's a lot, to be honest. Just like bats feel like they're misunderstood creatures, and so am I. And that is all in my book [My Good Side]. I put it all out there. It's kind of scary because I'm so insanely open and vulnerable, literally a full open book in these 17 chapters. So anything that you think you know about me, when you read this book, you might have a different perception. And that's exactly why I wanted to write it.

The judges suspected you could be a few different Housewives. Would you consider going the Housewives route now that Bravo has rebooted Vanderpump Rules?
I would never say no. I don't know if that's the place for me yet. Maybe eventually. I did have the smallest cameo last night on Beverly Hills, so you never know. But I love being a part of the Bravo-verse and I hope to continue in this world for a very long time.

Can you tease how you’ll be involved with The Valley season 2?
You never know what you're going to see. You know what you film and then you never know what's going to air, so it'll be a surprise to me. But I did hang out with my friends in The Valley a lot this past summer, so I'm excited to see what comes of that.

In your clue package, you talked about being surrounded by “a bunch of lunatics.” Was there anyone specific from the VPR cast who you were referring to?
Most all of them from the first season.

Who are you closest to right now from Vanderpump Rules?
Definitely Lala [Kent]. We're together all of the time. Our girls go to school together, they dance together, they do everything together. They're like sisters. I hang out with Ally [Weber] all of the time. [Tom] Schwartz and I are still really close.

What’s next for you after The Masked Singer and Vanderpump Rules?
My book, it's out July 22. It's available for pre-order right now. That was me taking another chance, being vulnerable, putting my full self out there for the world, and hopefully the result is great. Hopefully Bat and Scheana Shay are more understood after these.
