Yahoo Lifestyle Savannah Guthrie Praises Hoda Kotb in Sweet Tribute for Her 60th Birthday: 'I Love You and Admire You'
Guthrie celebrated Kotb for the way she "brings a smile to every person she encounters" and how her "mere presence immediately changes the atmosphere for the better"
Savannah Guthrie never misses a chance to show Hoda Kotb some love — especially not on her birthday!
Guthrie, 52, took to Instagram on Friday, Aug. 9, to celebrate her Today co-host and close friend, who turned 60. In a lengthy caption, Guthrie shared some of her favorite things about Kotb.
“Happy birthday to the one who brings a smile to every person she encounters, who is quick with a hug, whose giggle is infectious, who cheerleads for others relentlessly,” she wrote. “To the one whose mere presence immediately changes the atmosphere for the better … I love you and admire you and treasure every minute we get to spend together.”
“This is 60, you beautiful creature you!” her post concluded, alongside a photo of the two laughing as they sat at the anchor desk together.

Earlier in the day, Kotb revealed how she was spending her big day with two posts on social media. “Great bday morning!! Lucky me xoxoxo,” she captioned a series of images of her opening gifts with daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 4.
In the background, homemade drawings and decorations could be seen around the house.
A few hours later, she posted a group image surrounded by balloons and her loved ones — including Kotb’s mother and her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman — with everyone’s hands in the air.
“Ummmmm 60 rocks!” she wrote.
Friends and fans flocked to the comments to send their love to Kotb as well, with The Talk co-host Natalie Morales writing, “Happiest birthday and here’s to special memories with those cutie pies.”
Maria Shriver also left a note: “Happy happy Mr [sic] friend sending you boat loads of love ❤️”
ABC’s Deborah Roberts expressed some birthday wishes as well. "Happy birthday dear Hoda. Getting better with each day!! ❤️🎉,” she said.
Just days prior, Kotb arrived home from Paris after covering the 2024 Summer Olympics and being away from her family. In a heartwarming video, the anchor can be seen unlocking the door as her girls run toward her jumping up and down.
"Mommy I need a hug!" one of the girls shouted.

Before Kotb even made it through the door, Haley made it to her first and gave her a big hug. Hope, who was dressed in a Spiderman costume, got to her next, eager to show her mom a new water bottle.
“Home❤️,” she captioned it, which Guthrie commented under: “where the heart is ❤️”
