Saoirse Ronan Tried 'Playing It Really Cool' When Chappell Roan Told Her They Are 'Celebrity Lookalikes'
Ronan revealed on 'The Tonight Show' that the "Pink Pony Club" singer was the "person who made me aware" of their resemblance
For Saoirse Ronan and Chappell Roan, the similarities don't just end with their names.
On the Thursday, Nov. 7 episode of The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon told the Blitz actress that "a lot of people" were comparing her appearance to the rising pop star. He then showed Ronan, 30, a side-by-side image of the two, along with a 2021 TikTok from Roan, who also pointed out their similarities.
Ronan confirmed she does see a resemblance with the "Pink Pony Club" singer, 26, and revealed that the "person who made me aware" of their similarities was Roan herself.
"I became so obsessed with her over the summer, just like everyone else. Her and Charli xcx. And so I went to her gig and randomly, lovely Brie Larson was there as well, who I know a little bit. And she brought a friend of hers, and afterwards her friend was like, 'I'm gonna go over, I'm gonna talk to her parents.' We were like, 'No, you've got to play it cool, we can't, like, let her know we love her as much as we do,' " Ronan recalled.
"Anyway, we went over and I was playing it really cool," she added. "Her and Brie were chatting in the corner and I was like, 'Cool, I'm gonna go.' And she called me over and she said, 'Oh, everyone says that we're the same.' "

Larson shared a post-concert snap with Roan and Ronan on Instagram back in October, before Fallon also gave the pic some airtime during his latest episode. "We're in the same room. We both exist," Ronan joked as Fallon showed the photo.
"But she's just incredible and I love how she's spoken out about the insane treatment that famous people get," she added, before calling her celebrity doppelgänger "the best."
Last month, Ronan shared a shortened version of the same story while speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, when she said Roan referred to her as her "celebrity lookalike."
"I went to a Chappell Roan concert a couple weeks ago. They're gonna be laughing because it's all I'm talking about," Ronan said. "I met Chappell afterward and she said, which I was chuffed about, that apparently everybody says to her that I am her celebrity lookalike."
"That's what I'm living off of right now," she joked. "That's like my oxygen right now."
The four-time Oscar nominee has been busy promoting her two new films The Outrun and Blitz in recent months. Last month, she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she revealed she actually auditioned for the role of Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter franchise.
"There's things that you'll pass on and then they come out and you think, 'Oh, God, that was a misstep on my part," Ronan said. "But I think the one that stayed with me over the years was — I didn't say no to it, I just didn't get the part. I lost, again; it's a running theme for me."
"But I had gone up for Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter years ago," she added during the Oct. 3 interview. "Because it was like the Irish character, so they got everyone Irish in, like half of Ireland come and audition."
As Ronan explained, she knew she was "too young" for the role, which ultimately went to but still "got to read out a scene that was gonna be in Harry Potter, and it was the coolest thing ever."
Blitz is in select theaters now, then streaming on Apple TV+ Nov. 22.
