Sam Armytage selling $2.8m Bondi pad days after engagement news

It’s been a very busy few days for Sunrise host Samantha Armytage. The 43-year-old has not only become engaged to her boyfriend Richard Lavender and reduced her on-air workload but she’s also put her North Bondi pad up for sale — all in the space of a week.

Sam’s chic three-bed, two-bath home was put on the market for ‘forthcoming auction’ on Friday at an asking price of $2.8 million, a cool $650,000 more than she initially paid in 2014.

The two-storey house is located in a ‘prized pocket’ of the ritzy beachside suburb and, according to the real estate agency managing the sale, boasts ‘laidback luxury’ and ‘a sense of peace and privacy’.

Sam also owns a $2.2 million property in the NSW Southern Highlands nearby her 60-year-old fiancé’s 40-hectare Bowral estate.

Sam says ‘yes’

The TV presenter’s property power move comes after she announced on Instagram that she’d said ‘yes’ to marrying her businessman beau the previous Sunday.

“What a year,” she captioned two photos of her and Mr Lavender smiling for the camera with their arms wrapped around each other, her diamond engagement ring twinkling.

That same day it was announced that Sam would be dropping back her Sunrise hosting duties from five days to four, with Natalie Barr stepping up to permanently host the breakfast program two days a week.

Nat will now be co-hosting alongside David 'Kochie' Koch on Mondays and will also join Sam on Fridays, as Kochie hasn’t worked Fridays for some time.

On her first day back on Sunrise following the big news, Sam proudly showed off her ring and shared the ‘very sweet, very romantic’ way Richard proposed on his rural property “a few weeks ago”.

“We’d been picking weeds in the paddock and he said ‘darling, do you want to marry me?” she recalled.

When Sam’s co-host Kochie asked whether the pair would tie the knot in Mexico — a nod to Today star Karl Stefanovic's lavish nuptials, no doubt — she quickly explained that was not the plan.

“No plans yet, we'll just take it easy,” she responded.
