Salma Hayek celebrates 56th birthday in red bikini: 'Ageless'

Salma Hayek has wowed fans on social media after sharing a video of herself in a red bikini to celebrate her 56th birthday.

The House of Gucci actress paired the revealing outfit with green holographic sunglasses and held a straw hat in her hand as she smiled and danced on the back of a boat to Stevie Wonder’s song Happy Birthday.

“Happy 56th birthday to me!!!” she captioned the video in both English and Spanish.

She also added the hashtag ‘always grateful’ alongside the red heart, dancing and kiss emojis.

A number of Salma’s followers quickly took to the comments to celebrate her birthday and praise her incredible appearance.

“Happy Birthday to my muse,” Drake wrote alongside six pink heart emojis, followed by Zoe Saldaña who replied, “Happy birthday salmita Linda!”.

“Happy birthday, beautiful. We love you,” Anthony Hopkins shared, while Chelsea Handler simply said, “Nice!”.

Fans couldn’t get over how amazing the Oscar-nominated performer looked in the bikini, with one person saying she was “ageless”.

“56 never looked so good,” another added, while someone else wrote, “I would like to reach 56 like this!”

“She looks better than me and I’m 38,” a third remarked.

Salma’s fitness secrets

Salma’s no stranger to posting bikini content on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself last month in a black two-piece alongside the caption: “Ready for the week”

In December 2020 the mother-of-one told People that she doesn’t have time to exercise and instead practices “restorative yoga”.

“I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long,” she said. “So even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles.

“She taught me to tone my muscles without clenching them… You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”

Salma is part of a growing list of women over 50 who are flaunting their incredible bikini bodies on social media, including Jennifer Aniston, Sharon Stone and Elizabeth Hurley.
