Salma Hayek channelled her inner Barbie like a boss over the weekend, taking to Instagram to post a series of smokin' snaps of herself rocking a hot pink swimsuit and frolicking in the water with husband, François-Henri Pinault.

Showing off her famous curves, the 56 year old star of Black Mirror wrote, "Enjoyed the great blessings of sun, water and love #grateful," also sharing the same message in Spanish with a bilingual caption below.

After the Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie film smashed box office records over the weekend, Salma gave a subtle nod to the film as she soaked in the sun in a bold pink swimsuit with plunging neckline; a choice that would undoubtedly win Barbie's seal of approval.

The series of snaps sparked an outpouring of love from her Instagram followers, with over 3000 comments pouring in and amassing an astonishing 300K likes.

"The most beautiful woman in the world," one follower wrote, while another playfully dubbed her "Mexican Barbie."

Building on the Barbie theme, a third admirer remarked, "This Barbie loves the water!"

Just weeks ago, Salma marked the milestone of reaching 25 million social media followers with a special post. In the bikini-clad video, she showed off her moves and infectious energy while having a blast in an indoor swimming pool.

"I can't believe it, 25 million followers!" she wrote, "Thank you soo soo much to every single one of you."

Teasing her followers' love for her bikini photos, she posted accompanying footage showing her joyfully splashing around and exercising in the pool. With a touch of humour, she admitted, "I hate exercising - but I love to celebrate good moments dancing in the water."
