Sabrina Carpenter just wore the tiniest micro mini skirt we've ever seen
Cast your minds waaay back to the very beginning of the year when one fashion trend more than any other was dominating social media feeds and celebrity wardrobes alike: the Mob Wife aesthetic. Repped by everyone from Rita Ora and Hailey Bieber to Khloé Kardashian, Suki Waterhouse, Ashley Benson and Heidi Klum. But, just a few short weeks later, the look seemingly disappeared as quickly as it emerged. A flash in the fashion pan.
Until now, that is when Sabrina Carpenter championed its return. The artist was photographed stepping out in New York City last night [Tuesday 10 December] in an outfit that featured all of the key signifiers of the niche aesthetic. We're talking leopard print, faux fur, luxe details and a polished finish. Yep, consider this a public service announcement – Mob Wife is back.
Though don't just take our word for it. Check out Brina's 'fit for yourself:
Her look in question consisted of a plunging black blazer that hugged her waist before flaring out over her hips. As well as a leopard print faux fur collar and cuffs, three large leopard print buttons adorned the front of the design. Sabrina paired the blazer with a coordinating black micro mini skirt and sheer black tights, with platform black heeled pumps on her feet.
The retro '80s vibe of the attire was emphasised with Sabrina's choice of accessories. Namely, a black briefcase bag with statement gold hardware. Her only jewellery included diamond stud earrings, her trademark ‘SC’ ring and a silver heart charm anklet. Wait – are anklets back too?

Fans online were loving the look, and immediately recognised it from '90s US sitcom The Nanny, worn by the show's main character, Fran.
This isn't the first time Sabrina has channelled Fran's OTT (and expensive) style. The vintage Bob Mackie – the same designer responsible for the nude see-through leotard she wore during her A Nonsense Christmas Netflix special – silver gown she wore to the 2024 VMAs may have most famously been worn by Madonna, but it turns out Fran also repped the stunning design.
BRB, we're off to try and stream old episodes of The Nanny.
