Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes Just Welcomed an Adorable New Family Member
The couple already have two kids.
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’s family is getting a little bigger. On Monday, The Place Beyond the Pines actress announced that she and the Barbie star just welcomed a magical addition to their existing brood—and her first video of Magic couldn’t be cuter.
In an Instagram reel shared on Nov. 25, the star introduced the Gosling-Mendes clan’s new pup: A sweet rescue doodle mix with gray fur. “Meet the newest member of our family … Magic!!!” she captioned the clip, which showed some adorable moments of her bonding with her new fur baby on the set of a photoshoot. Revealing that the couple adopted her from California Doodle Rescues, she teased, “More to come…I’m crazy about her and excited to share life with Magic with you.”
In the video, Magic could be seen walking on a leash with her new mom, being held in Mendes’s arms, and snuggling up under a bench with his head resting on a yoga mat as the star shot a campaign in powder blue athleisure co-ords.
Magic will be joining the couple’s two daughters, Esmeralda, 10, and Amada, 8. Mendes, who met Gosling on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines back in 2011, previously opened up about the “easiest decision” to go on an acting hiatus to prioritize raising her kids.
“I certainly didn’t think I’d have kids and be locked down,” the Desi, Mami, and the Neverending Worries author told People in May about turning 50. “So I’m really happy that a certain man came into my life and made me change my mind about all that stuff.”
Nowadays, Mendes and The Fall Guy actor run a tight ship at home, with the star recently revealing that her kids aren’t allowed to use social media or be on the internet. “Putting my kid on the internet and being like, ‘Oh, search something,’ that to me is equivalent to telling her, ‘Oh, just go down the street in the middle of the night. You’ll be fine,'” she told The Sunday Times in October. With Magic to hang with, there's no doubt the kids will have plenty to be entertained by.
