Royal expert claims it's the 'beginning of the end' for Harry and Meghan

It comes after claims Meghan is set to 'step away' from collaborations with Prince Harry.

Following claims Meghan Markle is set to 'step away' from her collaborations with Prince Harry after a series of unsuccessful business ventures, a royal expert has shared it may be the 'beginning of the end' for the 'Sussex brand'.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield appeared on Sunrise this week, speaking about Meghan's recent signing to Hollywood talent agency WME [William Morris Endeavor] in order to attract more opportunities.

Schofield said that recent bad publicity, such as the axing of Meghan and Harry's $29 million Spotify deal, and several scathing attacks, have 'tainted' the 'Sussex brand', leading to the pair splitting their career paths in two.

"I certainly think that this is the beginning of the end for the Sussex entertainment brand, which was so important to them when they left the British royal family, and the idea of Meghan taking off and doing her own thing," Schofield said.

"This is William Morris Endeavor, her new agency, telling her to do this. They think that the Sussex brand is tainted at this point in time. And you saw with [WME’s] big announcement that they were signing Meghan that they excluded Prince Harry from it.

"They’re trying to elevate Meghan and make her a bigger star and I think in doing so, creating a lot of conflict at home."

Schofield adds that when the pair first decided to leave the UK, they had envisioned working together as a 'joint force' in the US.

"Do you remember how they were trying to brand themselves as a Barack and Michelle Obama, the former president?" she said. "They really wanted to be on the speaking circuit, creating documentaries and podcasts very similar to the strategy we’ve seen the former president take since he left office. And oh ... how the mighty have fallen."

She also shared her thoughts on what Harry will do next, saying: "I think that Harry is going to go back to his charitable roots - it also associates him with Princess Diana, which people notoriously loved."
