Rose Byrne Puts a Futuristic Spin on the Crop Top in Prada at ‘If I Had Legs I’d Kick You’ Premiere at Berlinale International Film Festival

Rose Byrne brought futurism to the red carpet of the 2025 Berlinale International Film Festival on Monday in Berlin at the premiere of “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.”

For the special red carpet occasion, Byrne opted for a design courtesy of Prada. The actress wore a metallic dark silver crop top with a bodice and straps designed with flat circles. The top was complemented by a high-waisted black skirt, which featured a slit at the back.

Byrne added sheer black tights and chunky black heels to her look. When it came to her accessories, Byrne went for minimalism, keeping her ornate crop top and skirt combo the centerpiece of her red carpet attire.

Byrne’s makeup, by artist James Molloy, featured a natural, clean look, including bold brows, a hint of a smoky eye and a soft pink lip for an added pop of color to contrast the black and metallic of her sartorial statement. Her hair, styled by Leigh Keates, was coiffed in a choppy take on ’60s volume, akin to a contemporary iteration on Jackie Kennedy’s bouffant.

Byrne’s look was curated by stylist Kate Young, who’s also worked with Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams, among others. Young was named WWD’s 2025 Style Award Winner for Best Stylist for her years-long career styling looks for the red carpet’s biggest stars.

Young began working as a stylist in 2010, bearing witness to the significant changes that have taken place over the course of the last several years. “People didn’t even have a stylist. I think a lot of people bought a dress to go to the Globes, or maybe their costume designer did it,” Young told WWD.

“Celebrities and designers form alliances in a way they didn’t used to. They might have met and become friends in the past, but now people align themselves with brands and then also become brand ambassadors or faces of campaigns,” Young said. “Now, brands are so good at identifying talent they’re interested in very early.”
