Richard Johnson: Brad Pitt’s girlfriend helps ease pain of estrangement from kids

Brad Pitt, 60, is getting very serious with Ines De Ramon, 34, his jeweler girlfriend of almost two years, say people in their social circle in LA.

The two go everywhere hand and hand in L.A., where they practically live together, and wherever else he travels.

Earlier this month, the pair revealed their romance when Pitt took De Ramon to the F1 British Grand Prix in Northampton, England, and they exhibited discreet PDA.

The lovebirds are no longer in hiding. Pitt openly introduces her as his girlfriend and occasionally lets the paparazzi take photos when they are confronted.

De Ramon has been able to ease the pain of Pitt’s endless eight-years-and-counting divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie. The divorce has cost him tens of millions of dollars and, even worse, his relationship with most of his children. Zahara,19, Pax, 20, and Maddox, 22, have all sided with Jolie and currently don’t speak to their father after the pair’s bitter split, which still has them fighting over ownership of their French winery.

In May, their daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt went to court and legally filed to drop Pitt from her hyphenated last name. “That really hurt Brad,” said the insider who added, “He loves all the kids.”

Pitt only has formal visitation with his twins, Knox and Vivienne, because they are only 16 and the court mandates their time together.

Pitt is still filming his new F1 movie, co-starring Javier Bardem, in the U.K., which complicates his visitations with his twins.

Whether he and De Ramon will start their own family is an open question, but some Hollywood spies say that once he’s finally divorced from Angelina there could be a new Mrs. Pitt in Hollywood.

“They are really happy together,” confided the source.

Leslie Uggams is a marvel, so it’s no surprise she’s back in a Marvel movie.

At the New York world premiere of “Deadpool and Wolverine” she was “over the moon.” It’s a bloodier orbit this time, and the first Marvel movie to get an R rating.

“I was a little nervous this time because we are so ‘R-rated,’ but we were welcomed with open arms,” the singer/dancer said.

She adds that the tone of comedic violence, cameos and in-jokes make it all more entertaining than gruesome. “We had such fun; you didn’t feel like you were making a movie.”

And even the 81-year-old Tony and Emmy winner gets star struck. “I’m still going ‘Oh my God, Ryan Reynolds, oh my God, Hugh Jackman,’ so I can still be amazed and we had a great time.”

It is possible to get chicken feathers without harming any birds?

Society magazine cover girl Jean Shafiroff was at Polo Hamptons proudly wearing a hat festooned with what she called “cage-free chicken feathers.”

Shafiroff is a long-standing animal rescue fundraiser, who has adopted doomed dogs from kill shelters. But some vegetarians might not approve.

Which came first, the hat or the egg, is a question for another column.

Christie Brinkley greeted a dozen of what she labeled “sexy polo players” at Polo Hamptons, plus Cuba Gooding Jr., Candace Bushnell, Julia Haart, Luann de Lesseps, and Social Life Magazine editor Devorah Rose.

Also there was Park Avenue dermatologist, Dr. Howard Sobel, who has opened a new clinic by the bay in Bridgehampton. The famed dermatologic surgeon raved about how good Brinkley looked in person, saying, “Her skin looks perfect.”

“Seventy is the new 40,” laughed Christie, who has just entered her seventh decade.

Brinkley confided to the group that she battled skin cancer earlier this year and said, “I never leave the house without a big hat and sunscreen.”

Jennifer Lopez sparked nonstop divorce talk in the Hamptons when she went to Equinox to work out and strolled around Sag Harbor eating ice cream without her wedding ring.

“It’s as clear a sign as we are going to get that she’s headed for her fourth breakup,” said divorce attorney Dan Stock. “It won’t be a surprise to me that once the kids’ summer vacations are over and they are back in school that she’ll file the formal paperwork in Los Angeles.”

Stock says J.Lo will probably file first so fans won’t think Ben dumped her because of her glitzy lifestyle.
