'RHOP' Alum Candiace Dillard Bassett Shares Name and Adorable First Photos of Her Newborn Son
Congratulations are in order for the Bassetts! Candiace Dillard Bassett and Chris Bassett have welcomed their first child, son Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett into the family.
The couple opened up about the new addition to their family to People, revealing that they welcomed Jett on Oct. 3. "He is just the cutest little thing," Candiace told the outlet. "Chris and I couldn't be happier. It's so cliché to say, but he's brought such joy to our lives in ways I never would have been able to describe before. It's pure love!"
"I just look at him and envision all the adventures we’re going to have,” she explained in the interview. She also added that throughout her pregnancy, she would speak to her newborn son, saying, "I can't wait to see who you're going to be."
She added, "And that's been the joy in my heart that's continued after his birth. It's exciting to think about. I'm so ready for a lifetime of being on the sidelines, cheering him on."
The new chapter in her life includes her recent step back from the Bravo cameras. Fans may remember that Candiace announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Potomac after six seasons. Just weeks after confirming her exit, Bassett revealed her pregnancy.

Throughout her time on RHOP, Bassett was very transparent about her aspirations to be a mother and her reservations about jumping into it too quickly. She also embraced her "bonus mom" duties, as Chris has three children from previous relationships. Jett joins Owen, 22, Mateo, 14, and Naya, 10.
Now that Jett has arrived, Candiace admitted that she wishes she started her motherhood journey sooner because she already "wants more."
She explained, "And that's a shocking feeling to admit because I hesitated and was afraid and doubted myself for so long. All of those circumstances around becoming a mom, like being pregnant, raising a child, etc.? It really scared me. But it’s been everything and more. I love it."
