Rescue Cat's Confused Face While Getting First-Time Kisses Is a True Mood

If you are both a pet parent and a decent person, there is a very high chance that you find yourself showering your animals with so much love on a regular basis that it's become automatic. I've caught myself greeting my cats with as much enthusiasm as I greet my husband when I come home from running errands, and when it's finally time to settle in on the couch and watch TV or read a book after dinner, I am more than happy to cuddle with them, too. It's second nature; I love these cats like I would any other family member, so why wouldn't I want to give them plenty of affection so they know just how loved they are?

Unfortunately, not everyone treats their pets this way, and it's probably safe to assume that most stray animals never receive that kind of affection either, which means some animals will go years without being hugged or cuddled. It's heartbreaking, but it's also what makes moments like the one captured in this Instagram video so worth it.

On Monday, September 30, @kittyboyandfriends shared a clip on Instagram that showed what happened when she gave her rescue cat, Mozzie, kisses for the first time... and poor Mozzie clearly had no idea what was going on.

It's basically like she stunned Mozzie into being silent and motionless. After she gave him smooches, he just stared at her, and I just wish I knew what was going on in his head at that moment!

To be fair, he did push his ears all the way back... a telltale sign that a cat is feeling a little scared.

But it doesn't seem like he hated it, either, because he didn't make a single move to get away from her. Maybe he just needs to get used to it!

Meet Mozzie

Whether or not he ever learns to like kisses, this adorable kitty has ended up in a pretty good place: with a foster mom, Grace Choi, who runs a cat rescue, The Happy Kitty Rescue.

However, he has been going through a lot lately, according to what Grace has been sharing on social media. Four month old Mozzie (short for Mozart) only came to live with her about a week ago, and this sweet baby seemed to be struggling with a hip injury and possible seizures.

"Despite his pain, he’s in such high spirits," she wrote. "He is the sweetest, floppiest boy who just wants to be carried around like a baby and is so excited about his new toys. He’s already such a character. Pictures don’t do him justice — he’s so ridiculously cute, small, and pudgy!"

But after the vet determined that his hip issues are neurological, it looks like Mozzie will be staying put with Grace for at least a few more weeks.

Good luck to her on not falling in love and keeping him forever. I don't know how I could ever say goodbye to this sweet face, but she's doing an amazing place by getting him the love and care he needs to thrive.
